High-Speed

ComDesigns' work supporting scientific research and engineering projects has included using high-speed cameras to capture ultra-fast events at frame rates exceeding 50,000 frames per second. Our work has ranged from documenting explosively violent chemical reactions to pro-bono work assisting the local police department with testing bulletproof vests.

We are expert in using high-speed camera equipment and know how to light and enhance scenes for the best contrast. Most importantly, we know how to slow time so clients can see the most information available, by using systems capable of capturing 50,000 frames per millisecond event extended over minutes of time.

Engineering and technical staff at ComDesigns-Tech captured a sodium and water reaction—a time span of 9.4 msec—using a high-speed camera at 10,000 fps.

High-Speed Footage Shows Bullets Striking a Bulletproof Vest from ComDesigns on Vimeo.

Engineering and technical staff at ComDesigns-Tech used a high-speed camera to capture the moment of impact when bullets are shot at a bulletproof Kevlar vest. This clip also includes footage of bullets hitting apples and water.
